Greek singer Antonis Remos shared his thoughts on politics, music, and leadership during an interview on Alpha TV’s “Autopsy” with host Antonis Schroiter.
Remos emphasized that artists, as role models, should avoid pushing political agendas. “I can express my opinion, but not dictate a line,” he said, noting that many colleagues make this mistake. Reflecting on Greece’s political landscape, he remarked that SYRIZA, once a 5% party, rose to power fueled by public anger. “Something new came, but it turned into a new bipolarity,” he added, calling Alexis Tsipras an intriguing figure whose tenure showed how “power corrupts.”
Discussing taxation, Remos highlighted the burden on the middle class and freelancers. He also addressed his meeting with New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis, clarifying that no election-related proposal was made. “Politicians are expendable,” he said, expressing hope that Mitsotakis wouldn’t let voters down. “Just as Tsipras was given a mandate to govern, I believe Mitsotakis deserves this chance now.”
Remos didn’t shy away from controversy, labeling the Prespa Agreement “criminal” and praising Alexander the Great as an unstoppable leader. He promised to apologize if the deal with North Macedonia proves beneficial.
