BROOKLYN – A. Fantis School in Brooklyn Heights welcomed back Greece’s no. 1 singer, Konstantinos Argiros, for a special visit that students and staff will never forget.
Argiros toured the school, met with students, and viewed a collection of original artwork they had created, each piece inspired by his songs. They depicted the importance of freedom and made connections between Athens, the ancient cultural capital of Greece, and Mythology. They used the personal pronoun from his song “Athina mou – My Athens” to illustrate what is important to them and express their school (My Fantis).
The visit culminated in an unforgettable moment as he sang together with the students, filling the school with music, excitement, and pride.
Special recognition is due to the students of A. Fantis School themselves, who performed the songs with impressive ease and musicality. Their impeccable pronunciation, confidence in using the Greek language, and deep familiarity with Greek culture and tradition highlight the high level of Greek-language and cultural education that is cultivated at the school every day.
Videos of the students singing with Konstantinos Argiros, shared on the school’s social media channels, quickly drew record levels of engagement and were even reposted by major TV networks in Greece, extending the joy of the visit to audiences across the Atlantic. TV anchors were impressed with the students’ singing abilities, thinking that they were part of a special choir, when in fact the entire school participates in the school choir!

“We are incredibly honored that Konstantinos Argiros chose to visit our school once again,” said Theodore Tasoulas, Principal at A. Fantis School. “Most of all, we are proud of our students, who welcomed him with such poise, sang with confidence and joy, and showcased their deep connection to the Greek language, culture, and music.”
The visit comes just before Argiros returned to perform a sold-out concert at Barclays Center in Brooklyn the following day, further highlighting his strong bond with the Greek-American community in New York.
On behalf of the students, teachers, and board, A. Fantis School extends its warmest thanks to Konstantinos Argiros for this amazing experience and for inspiring the next generation of young artists and music lovers.
