Riding high after her impressive 6th-place finish at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest — Greece’s best result in over a decade — Klavdia has released her much-anticipated debut album Asteromata, along with a visually striking music video for the lead single “Ta Matia Afta Ta Glika.”
The album, produced by Arcade Music and Panik Records, features the emotional title track that moved audiences across Europe and solidified Klavdia’s place as one of Greece’s most promising rising stars. The song also appears in a dynamic remix by Playmen and Valeron.
“Asteromata” offers a rich palette of new music, showcasing Klavdia’s hauntingly expressive voice. Tracks such as “Wreckage,” “For a Star of Heaven,” “Thinking About You,” and the standout “Ta Matia Afta Ta Glika.” highlight her range as both a performer and storyteller. The latter is a contemporary interpretation of the traditional Greek folk song and is accompanied by a cinematic music video directed by acclaimed filmmaker Jim Georgantis.
In addition to fresh material, the album includes fan-favourite tracks from Klavdia’s growing discography — both in Greek and English — such as “Nύχτα Μου Μεγάλη”, “Touch Me,” and “Lonely Heart.”
Speaking to fans in a heartfelt celebration following Eurovision, Klavdia expressed her joy and disbelief at the journey so far. “We couldn’t believe what we were experiencing,” she said, smiling. “The 6th place for me is a great victory. I was dreaming of fifth place, and we came very close. I’m so happy and grateful for all the love and support from the Greek people.”
She also reflected on the early skepticism she faced and credited the support of her team — including Eurovision creative director Fokas Evangelinos — for helping her deliver a powerful performance that ultimately silenced critics. “Even those who doubted me had to acknowledge what we achieved,” she added.
Addressing recent controversies and harsh commentary from Greek media figures, Klavdia remained composed: “Those comments became motivation. They didn’t affect me deeply — they pushed me to prove myself.”
In a moving moment, she also acknowledged the significance of releasing her album so close to the Pontian Genocide Remembrance Day. “It’s a heavy day for all of us, for Pontian Greeks. I don’t know how it all aligned this way, but I hold that in my heart.”
Klavdia’s debut marks not only a personal triumph but a milestone for contemporary Greek pop on the international stage. Asteromata is now available on all major streaming platforms: https://bfan.link/klavdia-asteromata
