Klavdia to represent Greece at Eurovision 2025 with ‘Asteromata’

Klavdia and her song ‘Asteromata’ will represent Greece at the 69th Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland. The decision was made during the Greek national final, where both the public and the jury panels cast their votes. The song is inspired by and dedicated to the genocide and subsequent displacement of the Pontian Greeks.

The evening opened with performances by Helena Paparizou and Sakis Rouvas, accompanied by the ERT Contemporary Music Orchestra and members of the ERT Choir. Together, they performed three iconic Eurovision songs: ‘Waterloo’ by ABBA, ‘Hold Me Now’ by Johnny Logan, and ‘Krasi, Thalassa kai t’ Agori Mou’, the song Marinella represented Greece with in its Eurovision debut 51 years ago.

A retrospective followed, showcasing Greece’s past Eurovision entries. Marina Satti then took the stage to perform ‘ZARI’, last year’s Greek entry.

During the voting break, Sakis Rouvas and Helena Paparizou performed taking a look back at Eurovision 2006, which was hosted in Greece following Paparizou’s victory in 2005 with ‘My Number One’.

Before the winner was announced, Theo Evan, Cyprus’s 2025 Eurovision representative, performed ‘Fuego’, the song Eleni Foureira used to represent Cyprus in 2018. The evening also included a surprise birthday celebration for Helena Paparizou, who turned a year older on 31 January.

The Greek national final was held at 9pm at the Christmas Theater and was broadcast live and online via ERT.

The winning song was determined by a weighted voting system:
