ATHENS – The end-of-year holiday season is a mix of religions, national and family traditions, music – and food. On December 20, rising pop star Klavdia brought her delicious mix of youthful energy and musical talent to the party as the featured performer at the grand opening of the Christmas Village of the municipality of Argyroupolis-Elliniko.
Fresh from her triumph as the official opening act of Greek superstar Konstantinos Argiros November 22 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, Klavdia – the 23-year-old’s last name is Papadopoulou – delighted more than 1,500 ‘big and little’ fans, lighting up the already decorated Sourmenon Square even more. The children – whom she greeted from the stage – knew many of the words to the songs, some her own hits, others Greek favorites, swaying to the music and cheering their favorite.

As The National Herald recently reported, Klavdia “is most known for her soulful vocals, and as a young, rising star in the Greek entertainment scene, who is recognized for her hit songs including ‘Asteromata’, ‘Sintrimmia’, ‘Vasanizomai’, ‘Haramata’, and ‘Nichta mou Megali’. Klavdia is also known for her appearance on Greece’s Got Talent in 2017, her appearance on The Voice of Greece in 2018, and of course, her appearance in Eurovision 2025, where she represented Greece and even secured the title of Grand Finalist.”
She loves New York and can’t wait to return. Her recent visit was her third time visiting, with the first being in 2023, where she sang alongside Elena Paparizou. In 2024 she sang with Giorgos Sambanis.
The appearance at the Christmas village was facilitated by Michael Karloutsos, VP of Global Government Relations for Hard Rock International and Executive Director of the IRC (Integrated Resort Complex) Athens, the joint venture company behind the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Athens. The complex – which will include concert venues and a conference center – is rising steadily at the eastern end of the vast Ellinikon project on the Athenian Riviera.

“We are honored to support the Christmas Village in the Municipality of Ellinikou-Argyroupoli and thrilled to welcome the incredible Greek superstar Klavdia at the opening celebration,” he said, adding: “A remarkably talented young artist, Klavdia represents the new generation of Greek music with her angelic voice, artistic authenticity, and strong sense of patriotism.”
Both Klavdia and Mayor of Ellinikou-Argyroupoli Giannis Konstantatos thanked HRI and Karloutsos when they welcomed the many families who turned out on a chilly night for the concert.
