OBITUARY
VERROS Kelly D., Age 99, Passed away peacefully on November 28, 2024, at the Little Sisters of the Poor Nursing Home in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Kelly loved cooking “the way it used to be done”, especially Greek cuisine. She loved making her “Baklava”, using a 300-year-old generational recipe passed on by word of mouth. Her daughter, Kathirene (Kathy) finally sat with Kelly to measure and write down this recipe for future generations. Kelly also adored her flower and vegetable gardening. She was a “social butterfly” with numerous friends. She loved to spend time with her family and to her grandchildren was known as the “fun grandma”, always playing with them and their toys on the floor. Kelly was very engaged in activities with St. George Greek Orthodox Church. Kelly loved her husband and missed him every day.
Kelly is survived by her daughter, Kathirene (Charles); her son, Demitrius; granddaughters, Tami and Kimberly; grandsons, Colin (Krystal), Hunter (Haleigh), Dylan (Tesia); great-granddaughter, Mia Amaris; daughter-in-law, Kay. She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Verros; father, Demitrius; mother, LuLuda; Steve’s son, Timothy; her brothers and sisters in Samos, Greece.
Services were held Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at St. George Greek Orthodox Church followed by burial at Acacia Park Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the Little Sisters of the Poor, St. Paul, MN or St. George Greek Orthodox Church, St. Paul, MN.
