NEW YORK – Kehila Keodsha Janina Synagogue and Museum (KKJ), 280 Broome Street in New York City, shared the upcoming events for April and May, including Passover services and the 10th Annual Greek Jewish Festival on May 11
“This year Pesah (Passover) begins the evening of Saturday, April 12th and ends at sundown on Sunday, April 20th,” KKJ noted in their email. “This year both Greek Easter and the Easter celebrated by other Christian denominations falls on April 20th. Therefore, all will be gathering with their families passing on heritage and celebrating with traditional foods. Among Greek Jews, both Sephardic and Romaniote, lamb is the traditional main course, much like our Greek Orthodox Christian friends, another example of how much we share in common. May this Pesah holiday inspire us to appreciate our freedom, and may this holiday herald the end of oppression and captivity for all our brothers and sisters.”
“Join us at KKJ as we celebrate Pesah in the Romaniote tradition. At the same location on the Lower East Side for the past 98 years, KKJ is the last remaining Romaniote synagogue in the Western Hemisphere conducting services in the Judeo-Greek Romaniote Minhag (tradition).”

Afterwards we will have a special Q&A with the Israeli filmmakers. Refreshments will be served.”
