Unanimously chosen by the Israeli selection committee, “New Day Will Rise” underwent a thorough review process before being officially approved by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
Who is Yuval Raphael?
Yuval is an Israeli singer and actress who experienced and survived the Hamas terrorist attack at the Nova Music Festival on October 7, 2023. This harrowing experience prompted her to share her story in international forums, such as the United Nations, in order to raise awareness about the horrific consequences of terrorism. Born and raised in Israel, from a very young age she developed a passion for music and acting, which continues to guide her to this day.
Yuval is familiar with European culture, as she often spends time in Switzerland with her family, where she was exposed to a wide range of musical genres, including classical music, jazz, blues, and psychedelic rock. These diverse musical influences have shaped her understanding of music as a powerful means of emotional and personal expression. Global pop culture has deeply influenced her, with iconic artists such as Beyoncé, Freddie Mercury, and Celine Dion serving as endless sources of inspiration for her. Yuval has stated in many interviews that she admires these artists and considers them role models in her artistic journey.
