It was inevitable the once-sleepy Greek island of Paros would have changed since my last visit in the nineties. But it was still a shock to exit the tiny airport and be greeted by a silver Tesla and its ponytailed driver, Yiannis Firos, looking like a wellness guru in his white trousers and overshirt.
“Paros has become very popular the last years – it’s completely different,” Firos explains as we cruise north to Kolymbithres on Naoussa Bay. “But thankfully they keep the architecture the same. This gives the special character of the island.”
