Probably the most iconic Greek spirit drink, with an intense anise and licorice like taste.
It’s usually served diluted with water or on the rocks.
When in contact with water, it turns into this beautiful milky white color thanks to the precipitation of the essential oils in it.
It’s also best enjoyed with some good meze.

I never understood people claiming tequila or vodka was the devil. Then I downed an entire 750 ml over 8 hours over night and didn't even feel drunk. I don't even drink hard liqour, water, lemon, and some ouzo? Suddenly I have the tolerance of a 50 year old alcoholic. Those stories of old greeks taking shot after shot and not looking drunk? Believable, and I can't even deny that its possible.
