GreekFest has less than 100 tickets left

One of Fayette County’s best annual parties is nearing sold out. The 19th Annual GreekFest Fayette has the best of Greek culture, from delicious food, to live music and dancing. According to event chair Emilia Moraitis, less than 100 tickets remain. GreekFest will be held in the evening of Saturday, August 16, 2025 at The Shipyard in Trilith in Fayetteville.

Dinner includes appetizers of spanakopita, dolmades, and tiropita, and a variety of homemade Greek pastries for dessert including baklava, kourambiedes, and koulourakia. Dinner includes pastitsio, Greek lemon chicken and potatoes, souvlaki, gyros, giouvetsi (lamb with orzo), Greek-style green beans, tourlou tourlou (mixed roasted vegetables), Greek salad, and fresh baked bread. There’s also an open bar with wine, beer, sodas and water.

This year’s entertainment features live music by Nick Trivelas & The Aegeans, from South Carolina, will perform both modern and traditional Greek tunes. Traditionally dressed Greek dancers from the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation in Atlanta will also perform for guests, who can try out Greek dancing, too.

“Last year the best party that my husband and I attended was GreekFest. It’s simply the best food and entertainment you can find in Fayette,” said The Citizen Editor Ellie White-Stevens. “It’s why The Citizen is pleased to help promote this event. Plus, it goes for great causes.”

One of last year’s first-time attenders wrote, “”The event felt like family the moment I arrived. From the delicious, authentic Greek menu to the lively dancing and the warmth of meeting new people, it was truly a wonderful welcome into the community.”

Proceeds from the event will support St. Christopher’s building fund and local charities like Beyond Performance, Wellspring Living, Midwest Food Bank, Bloom, and various other charities.

“We invite our friends and neighbors to join us for an incredibly fun, entertaining evening that will make a difference in our community. It’s the perfect blend of great food and great fun for great causes,” said Event Chair Emilia Moraitis.

Last year’s event sold out, so don’t miss your chance to go to Greece for an evening in Fayetteville!
