Greek restaurant with ‘authentic flavours’ opens in Swindon

A Greek restaurant and takeaway offering authentic flavours made fresh to order has opened in Swindon.

Kouzina Greek specialises in traditional cuisine using homemade sauces and the highest quality ingredients, and the family-run business has now opened its third branch at Swindon Designer Outlet.

After the Covid-19 pandemic, Chris Butcher and co-owner Paul decided it was time for a new challenge, and the pair opened their first restaurant in Cannock, with another following in Alfreton and then the Swindon branch opening on Thursday, July 3.

On Saturday, July 12, they will be celebrating the new restaurant by giving away 100 free wraps on a first-come, first-served basis from 11am.

General Manager Josh Brackenbury said: “We’re expanding because we want more people to taste our amazing flavours.

“We use fresh ingredients every day, everything from preparing salad to the chicken stack, which is prepared in the morning. Everything is cooked to order, and we have homemade sauces delivered weekly.

“I’ve worked in a few fast food places, and this is the best company by far, even the way staff are treated is much better than other places I’ve worked. There are no zero-hour contracts, so staff have job security.

“The two other branches are at the McArthur Glen Designer Outlet, and the owners have built a really good relationship with them. There’s the opportunity to grow with the outlet.”

Josh added that the menu highlights include the OG wrap, with chicken gyros, tzatziki, signature sauce, tomato, red onion, lettuce, skin-on fries and parsley, and the halloumi fries.

“We want the people of Swindon to come in and try our food”, he said. “The company has been built around the authentic Greek wrap.”

The Kouzina Greek website explains: “Although it’s the two of us that now run Kouzina, it would be nothing without the women behind the scenes who have taught us to make the food we cook today.

“Both of our mothers, Mum Daphney and Mum Christina, and our Grandmothers, were our biggest inspirations, and we still use their recipes to this day use their recipes. In all of our memories of home growing up, we were constantly surrounded by these same recipes, all of which were made with love.”

Kouzina Greek is open seven days a week from 11am to 8pm.
