The Greek rap community is mourning the loss of 3D (ThreeDee), a founding member of the influential hip-hop group Voreia Asteria (VOR.AS), who has passed away. The cause of his death remains unknown at this time.
3D, a prominent figure in Greece’s rap scene, was celebrated for his contributions to the genre, particularly during the 1990s. Alongside 3D, Voreia Asteria included notable artists such as LEX, who was part of the group in its early days, as well as Zino, Jamal, Mikros Kleftis, and Mondi. The group played a pivotal role in shaping Greek hip-hop culture.
The news of 3D’s passing was shared by several members of the Greek rap community who had collaborated with him over the years. LEX paid tribute on his personal Instagram account, writing simply, “R.I.P” (Rest In Peace). Jamal shared a heartfelt message, stating, “Safe travels, my friend. Childhood memories are never forgotten.” Zino also bid farewell, writing, “Goodbye, giant.”
Rapper Light honoured 3D by sharing a photo of the late artist on social media, accompanied by the message, “Rest In Power.” Another collaborator, Ypoxthonios, reflected on 3D’s impact, noting on Instagram, “3D introduced me to Skive, and together we created Capital Music, the biggest rap label in Greece. We’ll miss you, bro.”
In addition to his work with Voreia Asteria, 3D was a member of the group Alytoi Grifoi and was actively involved in Greece’s music scene since the 1990s. He was also among the first members of Capital Music, alongside Skive, Ypoxthonios, and Billy Sio, helping to establish one of the country’s most prominent rap labels.
