Greek participation elevates Burwood Plaza celebration

The free “Hello Neighbour!” event, organised by property developer Holdmark, took over Burwood Plaza with great participation from the local community, including a display of Hellenism.

The event was held on 22 November as part of a wider urban regeneration strategy that is underway and is expected to transform the heart of Burwood.

Throughout the day, residents and visitors from the surrounding areas (including many Greek Australians) had the opportunity to enjoy a rich program of live entertainment, children’s activities, giveaways, tastings, and to learn about what the next phase of the Burwood Place project has in store.

Information Booths were also set up at the venue, where Holdmark representatives presented the company’s vision for the development of a new multifunctional centre that will enhance commercial activity and upgrade the daily lives of residents.

The event program included live music and dance performances in which Greeks also took part, creative workshops for children, treats, and more.

Burwood, recently described as “Australia’s coolest suburb”, once again confirmed its dynamism and vitality, with families and young people filling the Burwood Plaza area during the event hours.
