Greek Ministry Of Foreign Affairs Offers Condolences Following South Korea Plane Crash


On Sunday, the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs conveyed its condolences to the families of those affected by the airplane crash in South Korea via a post on X.

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic plane crash in South Korea. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the families and loved ones of the victims during this challenging time,” read the statement.

The incident occurred shortly after 9 a.m. local time (2 a.m. Greek time) on Sunday, when a Jeju Airlines plane arriving from Bangkok attempted to land at Muan Airport in South Korea.

Unfortunately, the aircraft’s landing gear did not deploy properly, resulting in a belly landing. It skidded across the runway, ultimately colliding with a wall and bursting into flames, claiming the lives of 179 passengers. Only two individuals survived the crash.
