January promises a celebration of Greek artistry and culture, with a series of events supported by the Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO).
These initiatives aim to showcase Greece‘s rich heritage and promote its diverse tourism offerings, including luxury and cultural tourism, to international audiences.
The centrepiece of these events is the “A Jewel Made in Greece” exhibition, running from January 9 to 12 at the historic Zappeion Mansion in Athens. As part of the 11th annual meeting of the eponymous platform, the exhibition will feature over 60 Greek designers unveiling creations inspired by the glamour of the Oscars, under the theme “Red Carpet.”
The event will also include the third instalment of the artistic tribute “A Jewel for the Caryatid,” where designers craft pieces dedicated to the iconic Caryatids, symbols of ancient Greek art.
Later in the month, Greek culture takes centre stage in Paris with the fashion show “Inspirations à la Mode Grèce-France” on January 23 at a prestigious Parisian hotel. This event will blend tradition with modernity, featuring two sections:
- A parade of traditional Greek costumes from the historical collection of the Greek Dance Theatre “Dora Stratou”.
- A showcase of contemporary designs by students from the renowned LISAA Mode Paris fashion school, inspired by traditional Greek attire. A distinguished panel will award the top three designs, further bridging Greek and French cultural ties.
These events, supported by the GNTO, reinforce Greece’s commitment to promoting its unique blend of history, culture, and modern creativity on the global stage, inviting visitors to experience the depth of Greek tradition firsthand.
