Gives Back to the Community Following Record-Breaking Festival

Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church is proud to announce the awarding of $500 grants to 5 local charities as a heartfelt “thank you” to the community for its unwavering support of the Church’s annual Greek Festival.

This past summer, the Church hosted its 52nd Greek Festival, welcoming over 10,000 guests. By all accounts, it was the most successful festival in the Church’s history. “This festival has grown from a small cultural celebration in 1972 into a four-day extravaganza enjoyed by thousands across the Hudson Valley and New Jersey,” said Parish Council President John Fellas. “We felt it was time to give back to the community that has so generously embraced and supported us over the years.”

Naoum Hatzis, Co-Chair of this year’s festival, shared that the Festival Committee was united in its support for this new philanthropic initiative. “The charities receiving these awards this year will not be the last,” Hatzis said. “God willing, we will continue to grow this effort in the years to come. It’s our way of showing sincere appreciation for the love and support the community has given us.”

This year’s grant recipients include: Meals on Wheels, Bridges, Rising Above Bakery, NJ, Children’s Aid Society, and Orangetown Auxiliary Police. Each organization will receive $500 in recognition of their work and impact on the local community.

This year’s Greek Festival is scheduled for June 5–8, 2025, and promises to be another celebration of food, faith, and fellowship—not to mention continued gratitude for the people who help make it all possible. We invite everyone to join us once again for great food, live music, traditional dancing, and warm Greek hospitality. Come celebrate with us and be a part of this beloved local tradition!
