CNY Jazz in the City

Syracuse’s urban neighborhoods continue to face chronic public health challenges. Resistance to traditional healthcare is widespread. Vaccination rates are the lowest in the region. Diabetes, hypertension, cancer, infant mortality, and respiratory disease rates are high. Communication with isolated residents lacking computers and transport is difficult. Residents are unaware of health services available to them. Enter CNY Jazz in the City. This aggressive, community-wide public health outreach effort uses the arts as a mobile platform to bring people together and provide them with the joy of congregating to enjoy music, food, and fun.
