The Greek Orthodox Community of NSW (GOCNSW) has announced the return of the Greek Fest @ Brighton-Le-Sands, southern Sydney, for a second consecutive year, following a successful revival in 2024 that drew more than 30,000 attendees after a 21-year hiatus.
Scheduled for Sunday, November 9, the one-day cultural event will see Bay Street transformed into a seaside celebration of Hellenic heritage, featuring live music, traditional dance performances, and Greek cuisine. The festival will run from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
This year’s edition will be organized independently by GOCNSW and aims to build on the momentum of last year’s return, which organizers hailed as a major milestone for the local Greek-Australian community.
“ This festival is a great celebration of Greek culture and our vibrant, diverse multicultural community,” said newly elected Bayside Mayor Ed McDougall, whose council supports the event.
Festivalgoers can expect performances by Greek and Cypriot dance schools from across Sydney, interactive activities for children, food stalls, and vendors offering a variety of Greek products and services.
“The resounding success of last year’s festival… was a testament to the community’s desire to embrace and celebrate Greek culture,” said Harry Danalis, president of GOCNSW.
