It’s opening in a brand new office building
A Greek cafe and bakery is set to open its second site in the city. BakeAlicious, which opened its first venue in a former hair salon in Clifton back in January 2024, has announced it’s just weeks away from opening up its brand new site in a different part of town.
Taking to Instagram on Monday (September 1), the BakeAlicious team wrote: “Big things are baking. We’re opening our second location – and we couldn’t be more excited!
“Our new BakeAlicious cafe is coming to 1 & 2 The Distillery, BS2 0GR and will officially open on September 15, 2025. Right now, we’re building everything with love – walls, pastries, stories – and getting ready to welcome you with all your favourites (and some new surprises too). Because what looks good… Should taste better.
“Thank you for all the support that got us here. This is just the beginning.” The team also added that there will be free coffee for its app users on launch week, with a link to the app on Instagram.
The new cafe will sit in The Distillery, a new 92,000 square foot office development comprising of two buildings in the heart of Glassfields on Avon Street, within the Temple Quarter area of the city.
Taking to the comments section, fans and customers were quick to share their excitement of the news. One said: “Good luck with the opening”, while a second simply shared love heart emojis and others tagged friends and fellow foodies to share the news.
The traditional Greek bakery opened its first site in York Crescent in January 2024, in the former home of a hair salon, BristolLive reported. The team described the business as offering its diners ‘warm hospitality, the gentle murmur of Greek conversation, and vibrant music that spills out onto the street’.
BakeAlicious went on to say: “Whether you’re seeking a quick caffeine fix or a leisurely escape, this Greek haven welcomes you with open arms. Settle into a cosy corner with a well-worn paperback, linger over backgammon with friends, or simply bask in the warmth of the sun.”
The menu includes pastries, vegan offerings, coffee, cakes, sweets and smoothies, and more. Some of the savoury and sweet menu highlights include sausage rolls, kourou cheese pastry, koulouri, vegan and baklava, vegan kataifi, along with pies, bagels, croissants and more. And there’s a range of cakes.
Following the bakery’s opening, customers dubbed it ‘delicious’. One said: “So excited to have you here. The spinach and feta pie made a fabulous lunch.” A second it was the “best coffee in Clifton” and added that the “music was so amazing too!”
