Passenger traffic across Greece’s 14 regional airports reached new heights in 2025, recording notable increases throughout the year, according to their operator Fraport Greece.
Latest data showed that 37.116 million passengers traveled through the airports in 2025, marking a 3 percent increase compared with 2024. Compared with 2016—the year before the 14 regional airports were taken over, when passenger numbers stood at 25 million—traffic has risen by 48 percent.
In 2025, the number of domestic flights increased by 1.1 percent to 86,971, while international flights rose by 3.2 percent. Overall, flight activity was up by 2.5 percent.
“The results for 2025 confirm the strong performance of Fraport Greece and sustained demand for Greek destinations, despite a challenging operating environment shaped by geopolitical uncertainty and extraordinary events such as the seismic activity in Santorini,” said Alexander Zinell, CEO of Fraport Greece.
