Greece Reveals More Details Regarding Eurovision 2025 National Selection – ESCBEAT


Greek broadcaster ERT announced more details regrading the format of the national selection for Eurovision 2025.
Here are the main details:

  1. The submission window opened today (October 18th) and will close on the 10th of November 2024.
  2. Language: The submitted songs can be in Greek, English or both
  3. The performers must be Greek citizens or be permanent residents or have at least one parent with Greek roots.
  4. No restircitons on the nationlity of the wrtiers and composers.
  5. Songwriters and composers can submit up to 2 songs, but no more than 1 of them will be selected.
  6. Up to 12 songs will be selected to compete in the national selection. An additional 3 songs will be selected as backups.
  7. A jury panel of 5 members will shortlist the submitted songs.
  8. The national final will be a televised show.
  9. The results will be determined by a combination of a 50% public vote, a 25% national jury vote and a 25% international jury vote. The results will probably be converted to a fixed point-system.
  10. In case of a tie, the televote will determine the results.

In recent years, Greece has used internal selection for most of the cases.
In some cases, shortlisted acts have been revealed (like in 2023), while in other cases (like 2024) ERT has announced the chosen act.

Marina Satti represented Greece at Eurovision 2024 with the song “ZARI”.
She finished in 11th place with 126 points
