
Greece finished sixth in the 69th Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday night with the song “Asteromata,” performed by Klaudia, earning 231 points in total. The final took place in Basel, Switzerland, and concluded shortly after 2 a.m. local time.
Austria emerged as the winner, with JJ’s emotionally charged performance of “Wasted Love” securing 436 points. Israel claimed second place with “New Day Will Rise” (357 points), followed closely by Estonia’s “Espresso Macchiato” (356). Sweden came in fourth with “Bara Bada Bastu” (321) and Italy rounded out the top five with “Volevo essere un duro” (256).
Greece received 105 points from national juries, including top scores from Cyprus, Australia, Israel and Montenegro. Public televoting added 126 points, boosting Greece into the top six.
Earlier in the evening, clashes broke out in downtown Basel between police and hundreds of pro-Palestinian demonstrators protesting Israel’s participation in the contest.
