
Greece’s 112 emergency system issued a warning Monday for the Cyclades as severe storms are expected to hit eastern regions through Wednesday.
Officials urged caution in travel.
The National Meteorological Service (EMY) forecasts heavy rain and thunderstorms starting Monday afternoon. The Cyclades face the most intense conditions, with a Red Warning in effect until early Tuesday.
Storms will also impact the Eastern Aegean islands, including Samos, Ikaria and Chios, from Monday night through Tuesday evening. Attica, Thessaly and Evia will see heavy rain overnight into Tuesday.
The Dodecanese will be affected from Tuesday morning through early Wednesday, while western and southern Crete will see storms from Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
Authorities urge residents to stay informed and avoid unnecessary travel.
