Ioanna Kakalidi, head of the Public Diplomacy Office of Greek Embassy in China, met with teachers from Hebei International Studies University (HISU) at the embassy in Beijing on December 12, according to a report by HISU.
Led by Zhang Hongmei, dean of the sSchool of tTeachers’ Eeducationof the university, the team paid a second visit to the embassy. Zhang introduced the university’s educational characteristics, including its unique approach of combining major and foreign languages, the institution’s international development, the programs offering 75 languages, and the Greek language courses. Zhang also discussed the university’s cooperation with the University of Piraeus in Greece.
Kakalidi spoke highly of the Greek language program at the HISU, expressing her intention to pay a visit to the university in the spring of 2025. At the same time, she warmly invited the university’s faculty and students to attend the exhibition The Greeks: Agamemnon to Alexander the Great currently held at the Capital Museum in Beijing, as well as other cultural exchange events organized by the embassy.
Kakalidi also recommended Greek language learning websites and resources to the faculty of the university during the talk. She expressed willingness to assist the university in hiring experienced foreign teachers and facilitating collaborations with Greek universities in other areas of cooperation.
