Klavdia Papadhópoulos, a rising Greek star born in 2002, is set to represent Greece at Eurovision 2025 with her poignant song Asteromáta.
The 23-year-old singer first captured national attention in 2018 on the fifth season of The Voice of Greece. Her mesmerizing rendition of The Police’s Roxanne won over all four judges, marking the start of her musical journey.
Though she didn’t crack the top three, Klavdia’s standout performance in the Voice finale propelled her into the spotlight. She wasted no time, releasing several singles, including Haramanta, which achieved double-platinum status with 40,000 copies sold. In 2024, she introduced Asteromáta, a deeply personal track she wrote and composed alongside producer Arcade.
In a recent interview, Klavdia shared that Asteromáta is a tribute to those forced to flee their homelands, carrying a universal message of hope and resilience. The song has resonated with audiences, earning her the 16th spot in the latest bookmakers’ rankings for Eurovision.
The 69th Eurovision Song Contest will unfold from May 13 to 17, 2025, at St. Jakobshalle in Basel, Switzerland, following the victory of Swiss artist Nemo in the 2024 edition. Representing France will be singer Louane, who will perform her heartfelt single Maman. The song draws inspiration from her journey as a mother, her bond with her late mother, and a 2015 track of the same name.
