Team comments

Greece have definitely pulled their weight in the 2020s. Three top 10 finishes and four out of five qualifications is a great result. Also Klavdia gave Greece their best result in 12 years. With the national final set to continue it will be interesting to see if their new approach to selecting their entry will give them another top 10 result.” ~ Kyriakos

Greece may be consistent this decade, with bangers in 2021 and 2024, but 2023 and 2025’s entries are completely off the cliff. In all honesty, the country needs to improve itself. It may be one of my favorites in the 2000s and the early 2010s, but after three non-qualifications, its time in the Top 10 range within the next five years may be over. I would’ve given a higher rating if Athena Manoukian had represented Greece this year, but with Klavdia, not quite.” ~ John Christian

Apart from one non-qualification this decade, Greece are consistent either in or just outside the ten. Between 2004 and 2011 Greece were always in the top ten with one win in the bag. Greece has always been one of my favourite Eurovision countries and I hope there is another win just around the corner. If they can keep that format and the quality of last year’s national final, we will be going to Athens sooner rather than later! I think Greece here is the quiet achiever.” ~ Hayley

“Greece has certainly got its groove back at Eurovision after a drop off in the mid 2010s. Apart from the rogue choice of choosing a charismatic but inexperienced 16 year old as their representative in 2023, Greece’s four top 11 results this decade is impressive. Greece though loses a few marks with me as they have yet to match their scintillating run from the 2000s into the early 2010s. The scale and importance of the Greek pop music industry also means there is room for improvement, especially given they are yet to crack the Top 5 this decade. However kudos to Greece to getting their Eurovision journey back on track.” ~ Sam
