GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The 15th annual Grand Rapids Yassou Greek Cultural Festival will offer plenty of food and festivities this Friday and Saturday.
The Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church celebrates the Greek Orthodox culture outdoors with food, dance and music.
“We’re going to bring you entertainment, we’ve got a live band going, we’ve got activities for kids,” Greek Festival spokeswoman Christy Buck said on West Michigan’s Morning News.
She is, perhaps, better known as the executive director of the Mental Health Foundation of West Michigan, also known as the Be Nice organization.
The festival location is 330 Lakeside Drive south of Michigan Street. It will run from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, and from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday. The price of admission is 3-dollars. There is no charge for those who are 12 and younger.
Buck told WOOD Radio the event raises funds for a couple of good causes.
“Some of the money goes toward our youth endowment, which provides our youth the opportunities – some of them being to get to go to Greece. And then, in addition, Down Syndrome Association of West Michigan,” she said.
