CHECK OUT THE YIASOU THE GREEK FESTIVAL

The Yiasou Greek Festival returns to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral September 5-7. Enjoy cultural exhibits, folk dancing, live music, and authentic Greek cuisine. The Kids Playland has rides, children’s activities, and cotton candy. Hours are Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m.-10 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $5. Children 12 and younger are free.

CATCH A MOVIE ON THE LAWN

Bring the kids and a blanket to the Johnston YMCA on Friday, September 19 for an outdoor showing of The LEGO Batman Movie. The event, part of NoDa Church’s Movies on the Lawn series, includes free activities for kids starting at 6:30 p.m., followed by the movie around 7:00 p.m. Attendees can also enjoy free hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, and candy. Parking is free for your Batmobile, too.

STOP BY FESTIVAL IN THE PARK

The 61st Annual Festival in the Park takes over Freedom Park from Friday, September 19 to Sunday, September 21. Browse original artwork from more than 150 artists, check out multiple food vendors, and hear live music. Admission is free, but dogs and skateboards are not allowed.

CELEBRATE CHARLOTTE’S LATINO COMMUNITY

Head to Ballantyne’s Backyard on Saturday, September 20 for the Latin American Festival. The event is from 12 to 8 p.m. and features live music, arts and crafts, dancing, and authentic food. General admission is $10. Kids under 13 are free.
