The newly established ” Chefsache ESC 2025 – Wer singt für Deutschland? ” , through which this year’s representative of Germany for Eurovision 2025 will be revealed, airs tonight!
The RTL and RTL+ networks will broadcast tonight at 20:15 ECT and 21:15 Greek time , the first of four episodes of the mini-show ” Chefsache ESC 2025 – Wer singt für Deutschland? “, where twelve of the total 24 candidates will give their best, claiming seven tickets for the semi-final of the competition.
The format and the jury
This year’s event will once again be hosted by long-time friend Stefan Raab. The outcome of tonight’s episode will be decided entirely by the jury , which consists of Stefan Raab, Yvonne Catterfeld and Elton .
Actress and singer Yvonne Catterfeld , who was a judge again at the 2010 national final, is excited about her return as a judge at the event, stating: ” I am happy for any show that emphasizes music and, in the best sense, live music as well as quality. There are so many excellent musicians who deserve to be heard. This show is a huge opportunity for all these promising talents, ideally beyond the borders of Germany .”
Presenter Elton has also made similar statements, who, when asked about his participation in the jury of “Chefsache ESC 2025″, stated, among other things, the following: ” Now, of course, it is a huge honor to participate in this high-level jury. And if anyone wonders what makes me capable of such a thing – I will put it this way: I am the unknown factor in Raab’s success formula at ESC! And success is always teamwork. Because whether it is Istanbul, Oslo or Düsseldorf – I have been everywhere. It doesn’t have to mean anything, I’m just saying it .”
Meet the 12 contestants of the first episode!
As announced, out of the total 24 candidates of ‘Chefsache ESC 2025″, 12 will compete in tonight’s first episode of the show and the remaining 12 in tomorrow’s. Specifically, tonight we will enjoy the following artists on stage:

1. Abor & Tynna
With a father who is a cellist at the Vienna Philharmonic, the two brothers were exposed to classical music at a very early age. They have been collaborating on music production since childhood, and since 2016 they began writing and performing songs as a duo, initially with Abor playing the cello and Tynna on the flute, and later with Tynna taking over the vocals. Since then, the two brothers have moved into the genres of pop, hip hop and electronic music.

2. Benjamin Braatz
Having written more than 100 of his own songs by the age of just 24, Benjamin Braatz aims to present a pop composition at the Eurovision Song Contest that will stand the test of time, while also giving a new stamp to the German entry in the contest. As he himself states: “ I write melodies that people continue to hum on their way home .”

3. Cage
The music of the 30-year-old Cage from Cologne combines the sounds of Soul, R’n’B and Alternative Pop. She believes that Eurovision is the most suitable place to convey her vision and passion to the European audience, a place that ” represents courage, diversity and community and where people empower each other “. She says she is ready to seize the opportunity offered to her, stepping onto the big stage of Eurovision.

4. Chase
His professional experience in the catering industry, as well as his effort to combine music with his passion for coffee, have managed to earn him the nickname ” The Singing Barista “. We are talking about Chase from Hamburg, who, through the rhythms of Pop and R’n;B, promises to present something authentic on the Eurovision stage this year, which he sees as an ideal opportunity to celebrate the connection of different cultures through music.

5. COSBY
The Bavarian band COSBY , which has released four albums to date, combines Alternative Pop sounds with elements of electronic music. In addition to their own songs, the band members have also composed songs for other artists, such as Germany’s representative at Eurovision 2022, Malik Harris. Speaking about the contest, they say, among other things, that ” music from different cultures meets peacefully here (ed. at Eurovision) and we would like to participate in it to represent Germany .”

6. Enny-Mae x Paradigm
Having written her first song at the age of seven, 22-year-old Berlin singer Enny-Mae has built a loyal following despite only releasing her own music for the past two and a half years. This year, she crossed paths with the duo of producers and songwriters Paradigm , known for their pop and electro-pop productions, with whom she joins forces, aiming to win the Chefsache ESC 2025.
7. Equa Tu
Originally from Münster, 28-year-old Equa Tu mainly works in the genres of rap, pop and reggae music, having started his career by participating in student competitions. His intention? To make the German language heard again at Eurovision, with a song that aims to “put people in a good mood and not so much negativity,” as he himself states.

8. FANNIE
Fannie was born in Switzerland but now lives in Berlin. Through her career, the 42-year-old pop singer is trying to achieve, among other things, greater visibility for older female artists in the music industry. This is exactly what she wants to show by representing Germany in Basel: that music knows no age limits.

9. Firetail
This is perhaps the most recognizable entry in Chefsache 2025, as Feuerschwanz ( fire tail ) has a long and successful career both within and outside Germany. Singing a mix of rock, folk and metal music, they now have a loyal fan base, having already released eleven albums. With their entry in Eurovision 2025, they want to excite the audience with a dynamic and highly impressive performance.

10. Janine
The 25-year-old singer and stylist from Berlin says she is ready to represent Germany at this year’s Eurovision, as, according to her, “With my modern, open-hearted and flexible style, I fit in with the spirit of the times and can represent Germany at ESC with humor and charm.” Her music, which moves mainly in the indie pop space, combines melancholy with hope, speaking about the challenges of growing up and the path that leads to finding yourself.

11. Jonathan Henrich
Jonathan Henrich, a pop singer, composer and pianist, a graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston, comes from Cologne to claim the coveted ticket to Basel. As he has stated, he has been watching Eurovision since he was a child, never having imagined that one day he would claim to represent his country in the contest with his own song.

12. JULIKA
Coming from a family of musicians, 23-year-old JULIKA started writing her own songs at the age of nine. To date, she has performed over 350 live performances in bars and festivals, with her songs mainly falling into the pop genre. Her next goal? To be on the Eurovision stage representing Germany, touching the audience with her performance.

As has already been announced , the jury is responsible for selecting the fourteen candidates who will qualify for the semi-finals of Chefsache 2025, while the public is responsible for selecting the grand winner of the event this year, who will be invited to vote for their favorite artist tonight during the final.
