According to the National Meteorological Service (EMY), strong winds will be the primary feature of today’s weather, with several regions seeing continued snow, cold, winds, ice and frost.
Wind, Snow, Ice and Frost for Greece
Gale-force winds blowing from the north-northeast will reach 8-9 Beaufort in some eastern mainland areas and the Aegean Sea. In the early morning, northern parts of the Aegean may experience gusts up to 10 Beaufort.
Eastern Greece will have increased cloud cover with local showers and thunderstorms in southern coastal regions.
Meanwhile western Greece will wake up to scattered clouds and temporary rain in the morning.
Snow will continue to fall, primarily in the mountainous and semi-mountainous areas of eastern Macedonia and Thrace, intensifying locally by the afternoon, and bringing icy conditions and frost.
All of Greece will be chilled by northerly and northeasterly winds, blowing 4-6 Beaufort in the west, 6-8 in the east, and 9-10 Beaufort in the northern Aegean, easing by midday.
Temperatures in northern Greece will range between 6-8°C, the western mainland and Ionian Sea between 13-14°C, other mainland areas between 10-12°C, and Greece’s eastern islands from 14-15°C. Frost is expected in mainland regions during the early morning and evening hours.

Saturday’s Outlook:
EMY forecasts increased cloud cover in eastern Macedonia, Thrace, Halkidiki, eastern Thessaly, central and eastern mainland, eastern and southern Peloponnese, and the Aegean with localized rain or sleet. Snowfall is likely in highlands and semi-mountainous areas.
Frost is expected in mainland regions during the early morning and evening.
Temperatures will remain cold but above freezing in northern Greece (6-8°C), central and eastern mainland (9-11°C), Aegean (11-13°C,) and in western regions (up to 14°C).
