Award-winning author-illustrator Selina Alko brings her vibrant celebration of urban culture to life in this interactive program. Participants will learn about Selina’s creative journey, enjoy a reading of her beloved picture book “B Is for Brooklyn,” and participate in a Q&A session. The highlight is a hands-on art workshop where children create personalized neighborhood alphabet accordion books, capturing what makes their own communities special through letters, illustrations, and words. This program celebrates diversity, community, and the power of creative expression. Copies of “B Is for Brooklyn” will be available for purchase at the event, and Selina will personally sign all purchased books. Appropriate for children ages 5-10.
