WARREN — Frances “Dolly” Achladis, 89, passed away Thursday morning, Sept. 26, 2024, at Trumbull Regional Medical Center, with her family by her side.

Dolly was born May 24, 1935, a daughter of Harry and Carmella Talanca Kitakis.

Dolly graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in June 1953. She went on to marry the love of her life, Pete Achladis, on May 29, 1960, and the two shared 50 years of marriage until Pete’s passing in 2010.

Following high school, Dolly worked as a secretary at Trumbull Memorial Hospital for two years and then in the billing department at Copperweld for six years.

The job she held most dear was being a wife and mother. Dolly was a proud homemaker and always put her family first. She was known for her excellent cooking and baking of both Greek and Italian cuisine. Dolly kept an immaculate home and enjoyed dancing and canning. She was a member of the She Club of Warren and a lifelong member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Warren.

Most of all, she cherished the time she spent with her family, especially when she cared for her grandchildren. Dolly will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Dolly will always be remembered by her children, Stacey Nicholas of Howland, Sophia (Marc) Rintala of Howland and Ted (Julie) Achladis of Avon Lake; grandchildren, Nicole Nicholas (Tim), Kalin (Nick) Harper, Natalie Rintala, Rayna Rintala, Ted Achladis and Amber Achladis; great-grandchildren, Camden and Niko; siblings, Carmella (Wayne) Niemi of Howland, Harry “Chic” (Sherry) Kitakis of Medina, Gino (Karen) Kitakis of Cortland and Michael Kitakis of Niles; sister-in-law, Tasia Achladis of Howland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Dolly was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Achladis; and sister, Rose Maria Steiner.

Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to Dolly from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30, 2024,

at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 429 High St. NE, Warren, OH 44481.

A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30, 2024, at the church, with the Rev. Constantine Valantasis presiding.

Burial will follow in All Souls Cemetery.
