Fr. Kallinikos Chasapis appointed as new assistant priest for the Saints Constantine and Helen of Washington DC – Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America


On Tuesday, October 8, 2024, His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, along with Chancellor of the Archdiocesan District Fr. Elias Villis, welcomed Fr. Dimitri Lee and Fr. Kallinikos Chasapis to the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America Headquarters. His Eminence appointed Fr. Chasapis as the new assistant priest for the Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church of Washington DC.

The Very Reverend Kallinikos (Ioannis) Chasapis is a clergyman of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. He was born on June 24, 1997, in Argos, Greece, into a devout family with a strong clerical heritage. 

He completed his undergraduate studies at the Department of Pastoral and Social Theology at Aristotle University’s School of Theology in Thessaloniki, Greece, on October 23, 2019. He holds a degree in Byzantine music from the Greek Conservatory of Athens (2017) and a teaching diploma in Byzantine music from the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki (2019). Currently, he is enrolled in a graduate program, set to be completed in the fall of 2024.  Fr. Kallinikos is eager to begin his ministry for the community of Saints Constantine and Hele, under the guiding light of the sacred Archdiocese of America and the Holy Ecumenical Patriarchate.
