In March 2024, The Black Crowes’ Chris Robinson revealed during an interview on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show that an expanded reissue of Live at the Greek, the 2000 concert album it recorded with Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page, was being planned in honor of its 25th anniversary. Now, full release details about the deluxe reissue have been announced.
The updated version Jimmy Page & The Black Crowes: Live at the Greek will be released on March 14. The collection features remixed and remastered recordings of the original album’s 20 songs, plus 16 previously unreleased tracks. The packaging includes rare behind-the-scenes photos.

The original version of Live at the Greek, which was subtitled Excess All Areas, was recorded during a two-night stand The Black Crowes and Page played at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles in October 1999. The 2000 release featured only the Led Zeppelin material performed at the concerts. The reissue adds renditions of Black Crowes songs and other tunes from the shows, plus previously unheard soundcheck recordings.
The Live at the Greek reissue can be pre-ordered now. It will be available as a six LP vinyl box set and three-CD package. The vinyl collection will feature 180-gram discs housed in individual sleeves, and will include a foldout poster. The CD set will feature the discs presented in a six-panel digipak, and also will include a poster.
In addition, The Black Crowes website is offering an exclusive, two-LP “Best Of” edition of Live at the Greek. The limited-edition set features 15 tracks, and electric smoke-colored vinyl LPs.
Comments About the Reissue from Page and the Robinson Brothers
Page and Black Crowes members Chris and Rich Robinson all issued statement about the new Live at the Greek reissue.
“I’m really looking forward to the soon to be available release of Jimmy Page & The Black Crowes material from concerts in 1999,” said Page. “The new mixes capture the collaboration of those historic encounters and provide the full explosive passion and exciting energy of those alchemical moments.”
Chris Robinson added, “The new Live at the Greek box set brings the whole experience of our work with Jimmy into a vibrant, electric, mystical and powerful perspective. Hail, hail rock ‘n’ roll!”
Rich Robinson, meanwhile, said, “Going through the shows and putting together the new box set has been such an incredible dive back to that time in our history. It was a once-in-a-lifetime thrill to play these amazing iconic songs with the man who composed them. The sound of the new mixes and extra songs blew me away when I first heard them.”
Advanced Tracks and Music Video
Two songs from the reissue have been released as advance digital tracks. One is a version of “Bring It on Home,” a song written by Willie Dixon that Led Zeppelin reworked for their second album. The second tune is a rendition of The Black Crowes’ “No Speak No Slave,” which originally appeared on the band’s 1992 album, The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion.
A new music video for “No Speak No Slave” featuring previously unseen footage of the live performance has debuted at The Black Crowes’ official YouTube channel.
More About the Live at the Greek Reissue
The Live at the Greek reissue was produced, mixed, and remastered by Kevin Shirley, who also produced the original album.
The soundcheck recordings include a previously unreleased song called “Jam” that Page and Rich Robinson co-wrote while jamming. The other soundcheck tracks are renditions of the Led Zeppelin tunes “Custard Pie,” “The Lemon Song,” and “Ten Years Gone,” and a version of Muddy Waters’ “You Shook Me,” which Zeppelin recorded for their debut album.
