The date for the announcement of the artists and songs that will compete in the national final organized by ERT to select Greece’s entry for Eurovision 2026 has been finalized. According to reliable and exclusive information, the official announcements will take place over the weekend of 3–4 January.
The anticipation for those involved will be extended slightly, as ERT’s announcements will not be made just before Christmas, as initially indicated by sources within ERT, but instead on 3–4 January.
The new show dedicated to the contest, Eurovision SK, was not ready to premiere at this time. As a result, during the weekend of 3–4 January, alongside the debut of Kelly Vranaki’s new program, we will also see the announcement of up to 28 songs and their performers who will take part in the national final.
As reported by Athena Klimi in Ta Nea, immediately after ERT’s announcement, those selected whose names are revealed will be required to go to ERT to sign the relevant agreements. By doing so, they will accept the rules of the national final, as well as the strict EBU regulations aimed at preserving the non-political character of the contest.
We remind you that the national final is expected to take place during the first half of February. Two semi-finals will be held, featuring a total of up to 28 artists. Half of them will advance to the final, where they will compete for the honor of representing Greece at Eurovision 2026. The results in the semi-finals will be determined exclusively by the television audience, while in the final the winner will be decided 50% by the public vote and 50% by two juries, one domestic and one international.
