Following Olympiacos Piraeus’s victory in the Betsson Super Cup, club owner Vangelis Marinakis issued a statement celebrating the team’s latest success and signaling ambitions for future achievements.

Olympiacos defeated OFI 3–0 in the Betsson Super Cup final, lifting the trophy and delighting the club’s supporters.

The Greek champions added another piece of silverware to their collection following a scoreless draw in regular time, with goals in extra time securing a clear victory. Head coach José Luis Mendilibar and his players lifted the trophy amid loud celebrations from the travelling Olympiacos fans, who created a festive atmosphere throughout the final.

Club owner Vangelis Marinakis was present at the award ceremony, congratulating the coaching staff and players before acknowledging the supporters in the stands. Olympiacos fans responded with chants and applause as the team marked its latest success.

In a post on social media shortly after the match, Marinakis referred to the club’s “golden treble” (the reigning Greek champions won the Super League and the Greek Cup), coinciding with the club’s centenary celebrations. He went on to emphasize Olympiacos’ determination to continue winning titles.

“Every title and every success make us proud to be Olympiacos! Tonight, with our fans by our side, we won the Greek Super Cup and reached the golden treble on the 100th anniversary of this great Club’s legendary history. We move forward stronger and we keep on dreaming!”

The Super Cup triumph marks Olympiacos’ first title of 2026.

With their Super Cup victory over OFI, Olympiacos increased their tally to 19 domestic and international trophies under the ownership of 58-year-old businessman.

The latest title allows Marinakis to surpass the achievements of his predecessor at the Piraeus-based club, Sokratis Kokkalis, as well as Giorgos Vardinogiannis at Panathinaikos, both of whom oversaw 18 trophies during their respective tenures.

The milestone further cements Marinakis’ position as the most successful owner in Olympiacos’ history in terms of silverware accumulated during his leadership.
