The first 15 acts of Eesti Laul 2025 – 📸 ERR

Moments ago, the first 15 songs of this year’s Eesti Laul were released through Start program of the country’s public television ERR.

We remind you that the reveal of the 16th and last contestant will take place at the beginning of January ,who will be selected – exclusively – through online voting by the Estonian public.

More specifically, voting will open on December 28 – via the Raadio 2 website – and the winner will be announced on January 6. There, from among the songs submitted to Eesti Laul 2025, 20 artists who achieved high points from the jury and have given their consent to participate in the competition will be put to a public vote. For now, these are the first 15 songs for this year’s Eesti Laul:

(songwriters Frederik Mustonen, Ingel Marlen Mikk, Maria Vainumägi)

“SINGING IN ESTONIAN IS MY PASSION”

According to An-Marlen, the story of “Külm” (Cold) reflects her inner life at the time she wrote the track. In the past she only wrote music in English and never thought she would end up writing in Estonian, which makes her feel familiar.

(songwriters Andrei Zevakin, Liina Ariadne Pedanik, Martti Hallik)

“OUR SONG WILL SURPRISE MANY PEOPLE”

Andrei Zevakin and Karita ‘s song ” Ma ei tea sind ” (I don’t know you) was born about three years ago. Andrei argues that this is a song that would only be suitable for such a competition, because it is so different. He would never dare release it as a single. He has participated in Eesti Laul again in 2019 , 2021 and 2022 . For Karita, this is her first performance, and she says it’s a big step outside her comfort zone.

(songwriters Anna Sahlin, Bobby Ljunggren, Dagmar Oja, David Lindgren Zacharias, Kaire Vilgats, Michaela Stridbeck)

“IT WOULD BE A GREAT HONOR TO REPRESENT ESTONIA FOR A SECOND TIME AT EUROVISION”

Swedish singer Anna Sahlene , who is participating in Eesti Laul for the third time, represented Estonia at Eurovision 2002 where she won third place in the grand final with the song ” Runaway “. It’s also about admitting your mistakes and wanting to try again.

( songwriters Ant Nurhan, Kim Wennerström, Merili Käsper)

“I WILL DO WHATEVER I CAN TO BRING EUROVISION TO ESTONIA”

Ant dreamed of participating in Eurovision since he was a child. Now, with his first participation in Eesti Laul , he wants to bring the 2nd victory in the country where he lives, as he is a Turk who has been living in Estonia for the last six years. He describes his song with the phrase ” Life brings us both good and bad surprises. The main question is that if you know there is no tomorrow, what would you do today »

(songwriters Angelino Markenhorn, Elisa Kolk, Julie Aagaard, Simon Peyron)

(songwriters Johanna-Elise Kabe, Timo Vendt)

“I LIKE TO EXPRESS MYSELF WITH HIGH NOTES IN MUSIC”

“IT’S WONDERFUL TO BE BACK IN EESTI LAUL”

(songwriters Kaisa Ling, Kill Kaare)

“WE ARE SO PROUD TO HAVE A COMPETITIVE SONG”

Räpina Jack and Kaisa Ling , who will take the stage together in Eesti Laul, are trying to reach Eurovision with a song in Estonian. In an interview with ERR , the musicians said that singing in Estonian is something that connects them. Kaisa Ling said that the idea of joining Eesti Laul came from the members of Räpina Jack , as they invited her and she immediately accepted the offer from her good friends. ” We have the drums, what we do – the Estonian language, the mind, the humor and the rhythmic cool music, we have a lot in common ,” added Kaisa about her collaboration with Räpina Jack on ” Tule ” (Come).

(songwriters Heigo Anto, Lauri Hämäläinen)

“WE COMBINE DISCO AND METAL”

The Finnish band Stereo Terror combines in their discography metal and disco music, sometimes other styles depending on the night and the audience, according to them. They have a direct connection to Estonia as Uhlgrén ‘s mother is Estonian. “But when we think about what we usually do on stage, it’s more like a rave than a metal concert. One thing is certain: it will be crazy” , describe Stereo Terror about their stage presence.
