Enjoy The Spirit Of Greece At Food Festival

The 66th Annual St. Basil’s Greek Food Festival is scheduled from Friday, Sept. 5 through Sunday, Sept. 7 at St. Basil’s Greek Orthodox Church, 920 W. March Lane, Stockton. The Greek Food Festival is a popular food festival that brings the community together to enjoy the best of Greek cuisine, baked goods, family entertainment and shopping. Held both indoors and outdoors on the grounds of St. Basil’s, shade cloths and misting stations are being installed to keep festival attendees cool during the warm fall days.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Ministries Charities of the Greek Orthodox Church. Presenting Sponsors are ASE Development, BAC Community Bank and Mercedes Benz of Stockton.

Festival hours are noon to 10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 5 and Saturday, Sept. 6; noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 7.

The highlight of the Greek Food Festival is the authentically Greek, homemade original recipes such as: Loukoumades; Dolmades; Calamari; Pastitsio; and Gyros. Guests may buy from a variety of stations and enjoy the outside food court pavilion, or meals inside the community hall. Home baked fresh breads and desserts include Koulourakia; Karidopita, and Baklava, to mention a few. These items can be enjoyed in the food court pavilion or purchased to take home to enjoy.

A Market Place for shopping is a festival highlight, and children are encouraged to enjoy the Kid’s Zone. The main stage provides Greek music throughout the weekend, featuring Kymata, the Bay Area’s premier Greek band.

This is a family-friendly event for all ages. Attendees can enjoy the most authentic, delicious homemade Greek food, while taking part in activities and listening to live music.

Tickets are $5 at the door. Children 11 and under are admitted free with an adult. For tickets and further information, visit stocktongreekfoodfest.com or call 209-478-7564.
