ECHOES OF OUR ANCESTORS Ft. SERJ TANKIAN At The Greek Theatre


For one unforgettable night, the historic Greek Theatre was transformed into a sacred space of cultural memory and celebration. People of Ar Cultural Foundation, in association with USC Dornsife Institute of Armenian Studies, proudly presented the world premiere of ECHOES OF OUR ANCESTORS, a sweeping musical and visual experience uniting global Armenian artistry on one of the world’s most iconic stages. 

ECHOES OF OUR ANCESTORS and event featured one of the biggest exponents of heavy metal / nu metal music Serj Tankian of SYSTEM OF A DOWN. Serj is an Armenian-American musician, singer, songwriter, and activist best known as the lead vocalist of the Grammy-winning band SYSTEM OF A DOWN. Born in Lebanon and raised in Los Angeles, he has released several solo albums, founded the record label Serjical Strike Records, and co-founded the social justice organization Axis of Justice with Tom Morello. Tankian is recognized for his powerful vocal range and lyrical themes covering social justice, human rights, environmentalism, and the Armenian genocide.

Other musicians that were part of this evening were Tigran Hamasyan (jazz virtuoso), Sebu (CAPITAL CITIES), Isabel Bayrakdarian, and others. As part of a major musical and visual production celebrating Armenian heritage and identity. The show was an epic odyssey blending live orchestral music, dance, and immersive visuals to tell the story of Armenia and its people. Teaching audiences everywhere about Armenia’s rich history through music, dance, and storytelling. All under the baton of internationally renowned ,aestro Sergey Smbatyan.

The evening also showcased the exceptional voices of the Haikian Chamber Choir, as well as highlight the renowned Zvartnots Dance Ensemble, with a special performance by Ludvig Ispiryan and composer Andranik Berberyan.
