Serbian tennis legend Novak Djokovic is set to play his first-ever match in Greece on Tuesday evening, facing Chile’s Alejandro Tabilo (world No. 89) for a place in the quarterfinals of the ATP 250 Hellenic Championship in Athens.

The encounter is expected to be a challenging one for the 38-year-old world No. 5, as Tabilo has won both of their previous meetings, both on clay. The winner will face either Eliot Spizzirri of the United States (No. 96) or Portugal’s Nuno Borges (No. 47) in the next round.

The tournament, which began on Saturday and runs through November 8, marks the return of ATP tennis to Athens after more than three decades. Originally held in Belgrade, the event was relocated to the Greek capital and is overseen by Djokovic and his family.

Djokovic holds a record 24 Grand Slam singles titles, the most ever by a male player – equaling Australian legend Margaret Court’s all-time record.
