The grand event will take place on February 14th, 2026, at the iconic Arena Nord. Mark your calendars—it’s going to be a spectacular celebration of Danish music and talent!
Erik Struve Hansen, head of DMGP, told public broadcaster DR:
Our goal is to unite Danes through music, and this event, now in its 69th year, continues to evoke strong emotions and interest. We are delighted to be able to offer a show that still unites people.
The mayor of the city of Frederikshavn, Karsten Thomsen,said with great enthusiasm:
I can’t hide my joy. It’s a huge opportunity for us to showcase our beautiful community to the rest of Denmark. The event will attract many visitors and benefit our hotels, shops and restaurants. It will be a fantastic experience for young and old, bringing the whole city together.
A few words about the city that will host the DMGP
Frederikshavn is a coastal city located in northern Denmark, in the North Jutland region. It is mainly known for its port, which is an important hub for shipping and coastal connections with Norway, Sweden and other Scandinavian countries. The city has a long maritime tradition and is home to various shipbuilding and industrial activities.
In addition to its economic importance, Frederikshavn is also known for its natural beauty and cultural attractions. The Palmestranden beach, with its artificially planted palm trees, offers an exotic feel to the Danish landscape. The city attracts visitors for its museums, the historic Bangsbo Fortress, and the outdoor activities offered in the surrounding forests and beaches.

At the Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Denmark marked a long-awaited return to the Grand Final after five years. Representing the nation was Sissal with her powerful entry, “Hallucination.”
Sissal finished 23rd overall, earning a total of 47 points—with 2 points from the professional juries and a strong 45 points from the public televote. Though not topping the leaderboard, Denmark’s return to the final stage was a significant and celebrated milestone!
