Natalie Balmix, one of the most recognizable artists in this year’s Dora, continues to attract attention, not only because of her talent, but also because of the recent controversy that has erupted around her participation.
Even though her song “Život ide dalje” was disqualified from the Croatian music festival, Natalie remains in the spotlight, declaring her determination to claim her return!
Listen to “Život ide dalje”!
According to Natalie Balmix , her team worked hard to perfect the production and arrangement of “Život ide dalje” in order to present a high-quality version to Dora, aiming to be on stage at the 69th Eurovision Song Contest! However, as announced by the Croatian Radio and Television (HRT) , the changes to the song exceeded 50%, leading to its disqualification.
Natalie, through her personal statement on Instagram, accepted that there were changes to the song, but clarified that these were made with the aim of improving and adapting it to the requirements of the competition. She and her legal team are challenging HRT‘s decision, noting that the Dora regulations do not mention specific percentages of changes that would lead to disqualification.
“My legal team read the rules and found no mention anywhere of percentages that would result in disqualification if the song changed too much or not.”
The love and hundreds of messages of support that Natalie received from her fans, as she stated, were the driving force for her to react legally, filing an appeal towards HRT.
What is going to happen?
With the appeal pending, the final decision of HRT will determine whether Natalie Balmix will be able to return to Dora. Meanwhile, the release of the festival’s 24 songs provided a first taste of the competition.
The fans are eagerly awaiting the next move, both from the singer’s side and from HRT’s side. It remains to be seen whether Natalie Balmix will be able to prove that her talent and effort deserve a place on the Dora stage. What do you think of “Život ide dalje”?
