Just one month separates us from the grand opening of this summer’s concert season, which includes several major performances by popular international artists and bands. From pop stars making their debut appearance in Greece to legendary rock icons who still know how to put on a show despite their age, and from timeless voices of the global music scene to up-and-coming bands that have won over international audiences — many will make their way to Greece, primarily Athens, to dazzle local fans with the irresistible nectar of music and the electrifying live atmosphere.
From the wide array of concerts happening between June and September, protothema.gr has selected and recommends ten must-see performances by international artists:
Green Day – July 6, OAKA

A long-awaited wish will finally come true with Green Day’s debut performance in Athens. The legendary American band, known for its powerful punk rock sound, has sold over 85 million records and won five Grammy Awards. Their concert will be a signature event celebrating the 20th anniversary of Eject Festival.
Kylie Minogue – July 18, Plateia Nerou

The tiny pop powerhouse Kylie Minogue will hit the stage at Release Athens Festival. Known for hits like “I Should Be So Lucky”, “The Loco-Motion”, and “Can’t Get You Out of My Head”, the Australian singer remains a pop icon, with over 80 million albums sold and a career spanning from the 1980s to today.
Diana Ross – July 16, Panathenaic Stadium (Kallimarmaro)

With songs like “Endless Love”, “Upside Down”, and “When You Tell Me That You Love Me”, the legendary Diana Ross has sold over 100 million records worldwide. At 80, she continues to mesmerize audiences, and this summer, Athens gets its turn to welcome her. The show will open with Greece’s own Elena Paparizou.
Tom Jones – June 21, Lycabettus Theater

“Better late than never” applies perfectly here, as Tom Jones will perform in Athens for the first time. With classics like “Sex Bomb”, “What’s New Pussycat?”, and “Delilah”, the 85-year-old music legend still impresses with his vocal strength and charismatic presence.
Alice Cooper – July 11, Terra Vibe Park, Malakasa

The godfather of shock rock, Alice Cooper, returns to Athens three years after his last visit. Headlining the Rockwave Festival, he’ll deliver hard rock anthems like “Poison”, “Welcome to My Nightmare”, and “Hey Stoopid”, in a performance that’s bound to be unforgettable.
The Stranglers – June 23, Odeon of Herodes Atticus (Herodion)

With a 50-year career and a unique, recognizable sound, The Stranglers are one of the longest-running bands in modern music. Their appearance at the iconic Herodion promises a night of classic punk rock energy.
Public Enemy – July 22, Technopolis City of Athens

In 1992, Public Enemy’s first concert in Greece helped spark the local hip-hop scene. Now, 17 years after their last performance here, the politically charged rap group from New York returns to remind us that powerful music and messages never go out of style.
Ludovico Einaudi – September 26, Panathenaic Stadium (Kallimarmaro)
The acclaimed Italian pianist and composer, beloved for his film and TV soundtracks (“Intouchables”, “The Father”, “Nomadland”), is considered a phenomenon in post-classical music. His haunting track “Experience” has gained massive popularity among young listeners, especially on TikTok.
Max Richter – July 1, Odeon of Herodes Atticus (Herodion)

Blending classical music with electronic minimalism, Max Richter creates deeply emotional and thought-provoking compositions. Known for works like “The Blue Notebooks”, “Sleep”, and “Voices”, he’s been dubbed by The New Yorker as “the architect of 21st-century musical emotion.
