NEW YORK – If you’ve been following along with the Eurovision Song Contest for 2026, you might be familiar with her by now, but if not, let us introduce you to Antigoni Buxton. She is the beautiful and talented singer-songwriter from the UK representing Cyprus on an international stage.
The London-born singer songwriter who is most known by her stage name, Antigoni, is a talented artist whose mother is Greek-Cypriot. She is the daughter of the acclaimed author, producer and TV personality, Tonia Buxton, who is most recognized for ‘My Greek Kitchen’ and ‘My Cypriot Kitchen’.
From a young age, Antigoni loved to be creative, and singing has been a passion of hers for as long as she could remember.
As she got older, she began uploading her music to SoundCloud, and in 2019, she released her first official single, titled ‘2 Steps’. Then, in 2020, she released her first EP, titled ‘A1’.
The 30-year-old artist most recently became put in the spotlight as in November of 2025, she was selected to represent Cyprus in the 70th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest for 2026.
She submitted the song ‘Jalla’, meaning ‘more’ in English, which features Cypriot Greek lyrics, and her official music video, which is filmed in Cyprus, also features her grandparents.
Antigoni recently made her very first arena concert appearance, where she opened for the popular Greek singer, Konstantinos Argiros ahead of his sold-out show at the United Center in Chicago on March 7.

In an interview with Greek media following her incredible performance that had everyone up and dancing, she said this performance marked a pivotal moment in her music career.
“Honestly, I’m honored to be here,” Antigoni said.
“It’s so amazing to be part of something that’s for the culture as well, and for a good cause. Obviously, Konstantinos Argiros is an incredible artist, so I’m really excited. It’s my first time performing in an arena, and it’s a pretty mad arena to start in, but I had a very great time.”
Reflecting on her experience being selected to represent Cyprus on an international stage for Eurovision, she shared “I’m really excited to be doing it.”
“Honestly, it’s a dream that I’ve had since I was a little kid,” Antigoni expressed.
“I remember watching Elena Paparizou when she won the Eurovision for Greece and it was, like, fixated in my head from that moment that one day I want to do that, so I feel like it’s literally a dream come true and I’m really grateful.”
Speaking with The National Herald, she revealed why she initially decided to apply for Eurovision and what inspired her.
“It’s just something I’ve always wanted to do since I was a kid – it was always something that I think I knew I was destined for.”

When asked about where she hopes her experience on Eurovision will take her in her career, she responded “God willing, globally.”
“God willing, I can take that Greek and Cypriot sound that we have in our music and take it to the whole world,” she expressed.
“People are so open to culture and you hear genres like Afrobeats and Latin music, you know, transcending borders, and I would love to be able to do that for our culture.”
When asked about her biggest influences in Greek and Cypriot music, Antigoni shared how her list would go “on and on.”
“Anna Vissi, Elena Paparizou, and a lot of the old as well, like Marinella, as I grew up listening to her at home,” she said. “My list would go on and on, but those are some strong names.”
As someone passionate about music all her life and who has officially made her dream come true to land on the Eurovision stage and represent her Cypriot roots, Antigoni shared her advice to others who want to take their talents to an international stage.
“Just keep doing it, and just keep trying,” Antigoni expressed.
“I mean, it’s been such a rollercoaster for me and it’s not been a straight journey, but I think that if you move with a clean heart and you work hard, then things will come to you in the right way.”
She added how her dream collaboration with a Greek artist would be fellow Cypriot Anna Vissi.
