After decades of silence, the historic open-air cinema TITAN in Egaleo has been brought back to life, marking the beginning of a new cultural chapter for the city’s summer nights.
On Friday, July 11, 2025, under the starlit sky of Egaleo , the refurbished TITAN cinema reopened its doors. This long-awaited revival transforms a place deeply embedded in the city’s collective memory and cultural identity into a vibrant gathering space once again, filled with light, music, and emotion.
A Cultural Beacon Returns
More than just a cinema, TITAN is being embraced as a cultural landmark—one that connects generations through shared experiences. The reopening event was a heartfelt celebration attended by key figures from the national and local political spheres, along with representatives from educational, law enforcement, cultural, and civic organizations, and numerous local residents.
Among those present were Members of Parliament Dimitris Kalogeropoulos, Vivi Daga, and Rena Dourou; Regional Vice Governors Vasilis Lolos and Marianna Toumazatou; and former mayors of Egaleo, including Giannis Mystakopoulos, Christos Kardaras, Dimitris Birbas, and Yiannis Ghikas.
The ceremony began with a ribbon-cutting by Mayor Lambros Sklavounos, joined by former mayors and the Deputy Mayor for Culture, Giannis Koutoulias. This moment symbolized the collaborative efforts across years and administrations to restore TITAN as a central hub of public and cultural life.
