The Municipality of Athens welcomed 2025 with high spirits, music, dance, an aerial drone show, and silent fireworks in a spectacular celebration at Syntagma Square.
The event, titled the “Rooftop of Time” (Ταράτσα του Χρόνου), offered a unique musical journey through eight decades, taking the audience from 1945 to 2025.
Headlined by the renowned Foivos Delivorias, with performances by Natassa Bofiliou, Martha Frintzilas, and Thanasis Alevras, the event was masterfully directed by Angelos Triantafyllou.

Through songs, projections, and dynamic performances featuring elaborate sets, costumes, and choreography, the “Rooftop of Time” delivered an original and captivating retrospective dedicated to the city of Athens.

In a groundbreaking move, Athens celebrated the New Year with silent fireworks, respecting individuals sensitive to loud sounds, animals, and the environment. The silent display was complemented by a dazzling aerial show featuring hundreds of drones that lit up the night sky above the city.
The festivities began early in the heart of Athens, with a performance by the Municipal Philharmonic Orchestra.

As the night progressed, the celebrations continued with a lively DJ set by Laternativ and En Lefko 87.7 radio producers Stavros Dioskouridis and Panagiotis Menegos, kicking off the first dance party of the year.

The event embraced inclusivity, featuring a live performance in Greek Sign Language by Sofia Roboli. The celebration was also broadcast via livestream on the official Facebook page and YouTube channel of the Municipality of Athens, ensuring that everyone could join in the festivities.
