Athens is gearing up for an autumn packed with music, with stages across the city hosting some of the biggest names in rock, pop, electronic, jazz and hip hop. From legendary international acts to local heroes, the season promises something for every taste — and plenty of reasons to shake off the fall blues.
It all kicks off September 1 with Throwing Muses at Gazarte, bringing alt-rock nostalgia led by Kristin Hersh’s unmistakable voice. Just days later, Athens’ own Planet of Zeus mark 25 years together with a powerhouse show at Technopolis (Sept 6). That same weekend, the Primer Festival lights up Athens Olympic Stadium (OAKA) with superstar DJ Armin van Buuren, Faithless, Boris Brejcha and more (Sept 6–7).
Greek cult film “Let the Women Wait” gets a special live soundtrack by Babis Batmanidis Company (Sept 7), while Skiadareses turn heartbreak into catharsis at Theatro Vrahon (Sept 8). K. Bhta offers introspective soundscapes at Technopolis (Sept 10), followed by the fiery return of Franz Ferdinand (Sept 11, Floyd) and family-favorite Lazy Dragon at Herodion the same night.
Mid-September sees a flood of festivals: Off the Hook (Sept 12–13, OAKA) celebrates hip hop, Plisskën (Sept 12–13, Pireos 260) pushes the boundaries of electronic and synth pop, Rock Hard Festival (Sept 12–13, Technopolis) unleashes heavy metal icons, and the brand-new Urban Forest Festival (Sept 12–14) transforms Dionysos’ ancient woods into a Dionysian jazz-dance ritual.
Other highlights: Nightstalker & Naxatras (Sept 14), Black Lips (Sept 18), Jethro Tull (Sept 20), Gipsy Kings feat. Nicolas Reyes (Sept 21), and the darkwave-heavy Death Disco Open Air (Sept 20–21). Beloved Greek stars also take the stage: Natassa Bofiliou (Sept 22), Panagiotis Vlachos (Sept 15), and Nefeli Fasouli (Sept 19).
World-class legends round out the season: Ethiopian jazz pioneer Mulatu Astatke bids farewell (Sept 25), pianist-composer Ludovico Einaudi fills the marble stadium with cinematic beauty (Sept 29), and global pop icon Robbie Williams brings his Live 2025 Tour to Athens (Oct 2). Later in the fall, the intense Amenra (Oct 23) and Austrian duo Kruder & Dorfmeister (Nov 27) close things out in style.
From underground grooves to stadium anthems, Athens this autumn will be one giant stage — and the music won’t let the city rest.
