Athens has been recognized as one of the safest cities for female business travellers globally, according to a recent study by TMC Good Travel Management, a leading travel management company.
The “Safest Cities for Female Business Travelers” ranking was based on analysing over 45 capital cities. The study assessed safety records, reviews, and facilities that impact female visitors to determine the most recommended destinations for women travelling for business.
The Greek capital secured a spot in the Top 20, finishing with a score of 6.43. Athens performed well across gender-related safety metrics, making it a notable destination for female travellers.
Bern, Switzerland, claimed the top spot with an impressive score of 9.04. It received high ratings across all criteria, particularly in reviews and city ratings. The Swiss capital excelled in women’s safety, earning a perfect 9.9 out of 10 for female inclusion, education, and security indicators.
New Zealand’s Wellington came in second with a score of 8.11, largely due to its strong performance in closing the gender pay gap (8.7 out of 10) and its high female workforce participation rate of 66.9%.
Other cities included in the list are Amsterdam, Stockholm, Berlin, Oslo, Paris, Canberra, Ottawa, Washington D.C., Dublin, Lisbon, Brussels, Helsinki, Abu Dhabi, Cape Town, and the UK.
