The countdown to the New Year has begun, and Athens is ready to welcome 2026 in spectacular fashion. A diverse program of festive events with free admission has been organized across the city, promising an unforgettable New Year’s Eve.

Here is the detailed schedule for the free celebrations at Syntagma Square, Tritsis Park, Pedion tou Areos, and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC).

New year’s eve at Syntagma Square

For those choosing to ring in the New Year at the heart of the city, Syntagma Square offers a festive concert featuring Kostis Maraveyas and Rena Morfi, complemented by a massive drone show—the largest ever seen in Athens.

The evening kicks off with the melodic sounds of the Athens City Philharmonic Orchestra. Kostis Maraveyas will take the stage with his signature Mediterranean style, blending folk, Balkan, and Latin rhythms. Rena Morfi will follow with her “velvet” vocals and explosive stage presence, performing a mix of original hits and iconic folk covers.

As the final minutes of 2025 tick away, the sky will light up with a spectacular drone show. Athens Mayor Haris Doukas, along with the artists and hosts, will lead the final countdown.

Attica Region: Tritsis Park and Pedion tou Areos

The Region of Attica is organizing two major celebrations at its central “Christmas Villages.”

Tritsis Park (Xmas West Park)

A high-energy party featuring singer Klavdia and the world-renowned DJ Playmen. Attica Regional Governor Nikos Hardalias will lead the countdown via a live link with Pedion tou Areos, while a festive drone show fills the sky with holiday symbols.

Pedion tou Areos (Christmas Village)

Pop icon Eleni Foureira headlines an explosive show alongside rising star ZAF. DJ Bobito will provide a club-like atmosphere with fireworks and loud music.

Starting at 17:00, street musicians will perform at various spots throughout the park, creating intimate live stages.

New Year’s Eve at the SNFCC

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center remains one of the city’s most elegant spots for the holiday. This year’s host is actor and singer Jerome Kaluta.

The program opens with Alexandra Sieti, a charismatic soul/funk performer, and her seven-piece band. A magnificent fireworks display over the Canal, accompanied by a special choreography of the Dancing Fountains.

2026 FIRST RUN begins—the traditional 3km non-competitive race to start the year with health and charity in mind.

DJ Sunshine Pedro will take over the Agora with a mix of house, disco, and afrobeat until the early hours. The Ice Rink and Stavros Niarchos Park will remain open until 02:00 AM for this night only.
